Hulu's continuing to grow its stand-up comedy presence with comedian Ilana Glazer's next special, Human Magic, premiering with the streamer on December 20th as well as Disney+ internationally.
The new hour was taped this past May at The Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Center in Toronto & marks Glazer's second special following her early 2020 Prime Video special, The Planet Is Burning.
The Broad City star put together a stacked team to bring this new special to life. Jeff Tosmic directed, who also directed Rory Scovel's Religion Sex and a Few Things In Between on Max, The Improv: 60 and Still Standing & Kountry Wayne's A Woman's Prayer (both on Netflix). Rotten Science served as the production company for Human Magic, who's also behind Sam Morril's new Prime Video special, You've Changed.
No word on what exactly this new hour entails, but the new special was crafted on her latest tour that took her to 48 cities for 52 shows this past year.
Glazer joins previously announced comedians Jim Gaffigan (who's special releases a month after Glazer's), Bill Burr & Roy Wood Jr. with more comedy specials headed to Hulu under its comedy banner previously called "Hulu's Laughing Now" and now dubbed as "Hularious." With the streamer's current model, they're set to release one new Hulu original comedy special a month beginning with Jim Gaffigan's The Skinny on November 22nd.
Human Magic follows her acclaimed indie pregnancy comedy from director Pamela Adlon, Babes, Glazer starred opposite Michelle Buteau, Hasan Minhaj & co-wrote the film with Josh Rabinowitz, which opened in theaters this past May.
When does Ilana Glazer's Hulu special "Human Magic" premiere?
