It’s been a long wait. Luckily, the wait was worth it. Hear us out!
This past weekend, The Lonely Island returned to their stomping grounds at Saturday Night Live. (Sadly sans Jorma Taccone, who wasn’t available this past week). As soon as you saw the title card “An SNL Digital Short” flash on the screen, you had a feeling you were in for greatness regardless.
The Lonely Island unveiled their newest product pitch on "SNL" with "Sushi Glory Hole."
The boys didn’t disappoint. This Digital Short saw Andy Samberg and Akiva Schaffer pitching a new product idea: a sushi glory hole. What is a sushi glory hole? It’s exactly what you think it is: a bathroom glory hole that - instead of for sexual things - it’s for sushi. Just make sure you don’t get it confused.
The premise was about as outlandish as you can imagine, and it was definitely a return to familiar form the guys. We haven’t gotten a Digital Short since 2018, when Natalie Portman did a second rap - and Andy filmed his portion remotely. So glad they’re back, and hopefully this means more Lonely Island content is on the way!!
And some more good news: the song from the short is available now wherever you listen to music (check it out here)!
