Seth Meyers has been dipping his toe into podcasting, having two come out during the writer's & actor's strikes (Family Road Trips with the Meyers Brothers & Strike Force Five). Now he’s about to come out with a third venture, and this time he’s enlisted The Lonely Island's Andy Samberg, Jorma Tacone, and Akiva Schaffer to interview.
Each episode of The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast will take a look at a different digital short which aired originally on Saturday Night Live while they were there beginning in 2005.
They’ll talk about how it got made, the impact it made, and other memories from that specific episode. This includes what they deem to be the “bad” ones. They'll be reminiscing on the nearly 50-year-old show from a time when putting short comedy sketches on the internet was so novel that they maybe even helped launch YouTube to do it.
Along the way they'll talk all things SNL from guests, fellow cast members, and favorite live sketches including many that never aired. Similarly to Fly on the Wall, it’ll serve as a deep dive back into one of the greatest comedy institutions of all time.
