Academy-Award nominated actor Thomas Haden Church, who's previously made comedic performances in the hit films Easy A, The Peanut Butter Falcon, Idiocracy & last year's action comedy series Twisted Metal on Peacock, has announced his newest role. He'll be teaming up with the dawg Shane Gillis to join the season 2 cast of his Netflix comedy series Tires.

The hit series was quickly renewed for a second season just days ahead of its premiere on Netflix. The show, co-created, written and executive produced by Gillis, follows "Will (Steven Gerben), the nervous and unqualified heir to an auto repair chain, [who] attempts to turn his father’s business around despite constant torture from his cousin and now employee, Shane (Gillis)."

Everything we know about Thomas Haden Church's role in "Tires" season 2 on Netflix.

The logline for season two reads: “After the unexpected success of their big marketing idea, Will (Gerben) and Shane (Gillis) rush to grow personally and professionally without fully realizing the cost of doing business.”

Church joins the show's cast with Gerben, Gillis, Chris O’Connor, Kilah Fox, and Stavros Halkias. As for Church's character named Phil, he's described as “Shane’s wealthy but immature father. A grown-up version of Shane, Phil enjoys owning various businesses in Florida where he resides, throwing back margaritas and flirting with waitresses.”

John McKeever serves as the series' director in addition to being a co-creator, writers, and executive producer with Gillis & Gerben. Brandon James is an executive producer for Rough House; Brian Stern and Kenneth Slotnick are executive producers for AGI Entertainment Media & Management. Becky Astphan is an executive producer.

When does "Tires" return for season 2 on Netflix?

Season two of Tires is set to premiere in 2025 along with Shane Gillis' next comedy special on Netflix.
