Earlier this summer, it was announced that Tim Allen would be making a return to TV for a new multi-camera comedy on ABC called Shifting Gears, his latest sitcom following his hit shows Last Man Standing & Home Improvement. Later, 2 Broke Girls star Kat Dennings joined the series to star opposite Allen and now, we've got a better picture of the new comedy series as the network today revealed that Seann William Scott has boarded the new show.
Everything to know about the new Tim Allen comedy, "Shifting Gears."
According to the official logline: the show follows Matt (Allen), "the stubborn, widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop. When Matt’s estranged daughter, Riley (Dennings), and her teenage kids move into his house, the real restoration begins."
Scott joins the cast as a series regular, whose character Gabriel is described as a “family friend of Matt & Riley who works in the shop with Matt.” Rounding out the rest of the cast is Daryl “Chill” Mitchell as Stitch, Maxwell Simkins as Carter and Barrett Margolis as Georgia.
Showrunning & executive producing the new show is Michelle Nader, who previously worked with Dennings as showrunner on her shows 2 Broke Girls & Dollface.
Scott has previously graced the silver screen in comedies like the American Pie franchise, Role Models, The Dukes of Hazard, the two Goon movies & most recently appeared in the new action comedy Jackpot! on Prime Video.
Shifting Gears is set to begin shooting in November.
