Shane Gillis has had quite a week. Fresh off his Saturday Night Live hosting stint, Netflix announced yesterday that they’ve acquired his new series, Tires.
The series follows Steven Gerber as Will, who is “the nervous and unqualified heir to an auto repair chain. Will attempts to turn his father’s business around “despite constant torture from his cousin and now employee, Shane (Gillis).”
Gillis also co-created the series, with Gerber and frequent collaborator John McKeever, who also serves as director. Co-starring on the series is Chris O’Connor, Kilah Fox, and Stavros Halkias, with a guest appearance from Andrew Schulz.
On top of that, Netflix has also picked up a new stand-up special from Gillis. This follows up his 2023 special, Beautiful Dogs. So it looks like Netflix and Gillis will be working together for a while.
