Triumph the Insult Comic Dog has never been afraid of sharing what he thinks. And right now, he thinks that the Academy should reconsider not nominating When It’s Us from Leo for Best Original Song.
The song was written by the film’s director, Robert Smigel. Smigel also happens to be the genius behind Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. Or as Triumph refers to him, “the hand up my ass.” A petition from Triumph started circulating online this week. But today, things went a step further.
Triumph released a video from a plane where he is determined to make his feelings on the matter known. He even enlisted 7 time Oscar nominee Marc Shaiman to advocate for the song’s inclusion in the hilarious video.

The petition to Stop The Not Including Of “When It’s Us” in Sunday’s Oscars Ceremony is gaining momentum! So I’m flying to LA to interview choreographers. Thanks @marc_shaiman for your moving appeal to action. Be on the right side of history and sign at https://t.co/msMqfDEZEt pic.twitter.com/z2U5qhgBaN

To make matters more interesting, Triumph released a follow-up video from the same plane where he recruited renowned comedy filmmaker, director & producer Judd Apatow continue the campaign for the song’s inclusion in this year's ceremony in another funny message that's definitely "in his own words."

Did this maneuver work? The only way to find out is to watch the Awards tomorrow. And if you’d like to add your name to the petition, you can do so here.
