This morning, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association revealed its nominations for the forthcoming 2024 Golden Globes. The show that celebrates excellence for both American & international film & television.
This year's Golden Globe nominations introduces its first ever Stand-Up Comedy Category.
One of the leading anticipations ahead of this year's nominations was the HFPA's announcement that for the first time ever, Stand-Up Comedy would be recognized as a category at this year's awards ceremony. The new category is distinguished as "outstanding work from a comic in a traditional stand-up format (or as a breakout comic in a troupe or ensemble)."
The streamer leading with the most nominations comes as no surprise with Netflix having 5 out of the 6 nominations this year including Ricky Gervais, Trevor Noah, Chris Rock, Amy Schumer & Wanda Sykes. Sarah Silverman comes in as the sixth nominee representing HBO.

The film nominees are very competitive in the comedy space this year. Should come as no surprise seeing Barbie lead out the full awards slate this year with 9 nominations total, including Best Picture (Musical or Comedy).
Some other notable nominees in the film category include The Holdovers (for Best Picture & Paul Giamatti, Best Actor, both Musical or Comedy), Dream Scenario (for Nicolas Cage, Best Actor, Musical or Comedy) & No Hard Feelings (for Jennifer Lawrence, Best Actress, Musical or Comedy).
The television nominees for this year's awards was truly stacked. Only Murders In The Building & The Bear lead out the comedy series nominations with five nods each, including each show claiming nods for its lead actors & actresses.
