Comedian, musician & podcaster Adam Newman is back with fifth stand-up comedy special, Jew Versus The Volcano, set to premiere on YouTube March 22, 2024.
What to know about Adam Newman's new special.
The Los Angeles based comic's latest hour was taped at Hotbed Comedy Club in Washington, DC and is loosely structured into three acts. Unlike the traditional hour of stand-up comedy, Jew Versus The Volcano has everything from "music, magic, horses, butt stuff and more" the press release reads.
The first offering a classic stand-up check-in about where he’s at now: recently married, traveled, barreling out of a pandemic. The second act is the age-old tale about losing one’s virginity, featuring an appearance by REM’s Mike Mills and a visit to the emergency room. The third and final act brings us to what Adam Newman has been planning all along: coming out as a (gulp) guitar comedian, offering up catchy songs about everyone’s least favorite dictator and…ham.
In addition to the special being able to watch for free on YouTube, the new hour will also be available as a comedy album in both digital & double vinyl formats, both available for pre-order now via Blonde Medicine.
Before Jew Versus The Volcano, Newman previously released his comedy album, Squirticus, via 800 Pound Gorilla (available to download here). He can also be seen hosting the PuzzyBoyz podcast, comedy podcast where him & his friends (fellow comedians) Zach Brousard, Nick Mariato, & Danny Solomon gather to talk about how much they all love their cats.
