Aubrey Plaza's Animated Cat Comedy Series "Kevin" Ordered At Prime Video

Parks & Recreation star Aubrey Plaza is teaming up with comedian & writer Joe Wengert on a new animated comedy series ordered at Prime Video, Kevin.

The new show follows a life-long housecat who decides that he doesn’t want to live with people anymore. Loosely inspired by a real break-up and the cat caught in the middle, Kevin dares to ask himself, “Is there a world where I don’t do the owner thing and am just... single for the rest of my life?”

What Aubrey Plaza & team are saying about "Kevin."

“We’re thrilled to be working with Joe and Amazon to bring this cat’s story to the screen. We can’t wait for the world to meet Kevin!” said Aubrey Plaza and Dan Murphy in a statement.

"I am extremely excited to be working with Amazon and my old friends Aubrey and Dan on this show. The real Kevin was with me during some of my lowest moments. This show is my chance to thank him-- by creating a world where he can find less of a total bummer situation for himself," said Joe Wengert, executive producer and showrunner.

The series is executive produced and written by Aubrey Plaza and Joe Wengert, with Wengert also serving as showrunner. Dan Murphy also serves as an executive producer. The series is produced by Titmouse, Evil Hag Productions, and Amazon MGM Studios.

This new series is the latest for-ray into adult animation for Plaza, she previously teamed with Dan Harmon & Danny DeVito on the FXX animated series Little Demon. She's next set to star Francis Ford Coppola's widely reviewed film Megalopolis, which just premiered at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.

Wengert is a stand-up comedian, writer & actor best known for his work as an executive producer on the blockbuster animated series Big Mouth on Netflix. He's also known for his work as a performer at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.

Murphy serves as Plaza's producing parter at Evil Hag Productions & is a co-writer on the children's books The Legend Of The Christmas Witch and The Return Of The Christmas Witch.

Feline & comedy fans are certainly in for a treat with this new series and we're excited to see a first look hopefully later this year!
