Will Ferrell To Lead His First Scripted Comedy Series, "GOLF," On Netflix

Netflix is continuing to beef up its comedy slate following its massive comedy festival Netflix Is A Joke Fest, a new Ellen Degeneres stand-up special, & a new Four Seasons comedy series with Tina Fey & Steve Carell. And now, they're teaming up with Ron Burgundy himself on their next scripted series.

Will Ferrell, one of comedy's most iconic film actors, is making his way over to Netflix to star in his first ever scripted television series, GOLF.

What to know about Will Ferrell's "GOLF" comedy series at Netflix.

The new show, stylized as GOLF in all caps, will follow Ferrell in a 10 episode series order who will be playing a fictional golf legend (not much else is known yet beyond the show being about golf & it'll have Ferrell's comedic signature we all know and love). The Saturday Night Live alum is co-creating the new comedy series alongside stand-up comedian Ramy Youssef & The Carmichael Show creator Josh Rabinowitz. Youssef is also set to star in the series alongside Ferrell, who's role is currently under wraps.

Ferrell will also be executive producing the show with Jassica Elbaum & Alix Taylor via his Gloria Sanchez Productions banner. Rian Johnson, who directed the Knives Out films & Poker Face on Peacock, is also on board to executive produce via T Street Productions.

This new series announcement follows Ferrell's new documentary Will & Harper, which is set to premiere on Netflix later this year as well as his new R-rated comedy with Reese Witherspoon, You're Cordially Invited, premiering on Prime Video in early 2025.

Youssef just released his second comedy special, More Feelings, on HBO & also made his SNL hosting debut earlier this year.

Ferrell's first entry into scripted comedy is certainly something we're looking forward to & will report more on the latest developments!
