Over the last couple of years, television producer & series creator Bill Lawrence has pumped out two of the biggest & critically acclaimed comedy series: the juggernaut Ted Lasso & the fan favorite Shrinking (both on Apple TV+). And now, Lawrence is teaming up with the streamer once again for his newest show with the help of Wedding Crashers & Dodgeball star Vince Vaughn leading the new series, Bad Monkey, premiering August 14th. We have a first look at the new series with its first trailer below.

Here's the logline: "Based on Carl Hiaasen’s New York Times bestselling novel and enduring cult favorite, 'Bad Monkey' tells the story of Andrew Yancy (Vaughn), who has been bounced from the Miami Police Department and is now a health inspector in the Keys. But after stumbling upon a case that begins with a human arm fished up by tourists, he realizes that if he can prove murder, he’ll be back in. He just needs to get past a trove of Floridian oddballs and one bad monkey."

In addition to Vaughn, the main cast for this inaugural season includes L. Scott Caldwell, Rob Delaney, Meredith Hagner, Natalie Martinez, Alex Moffat, Michelle Monaghan, Ronald Peet, & Jodie Turner-Smith. Special guest stars set to appear are John Ortiz and guest stars Zach Braff, Ashley Nicole Black, Scott Glenn and Charlotte Lawrence in her television debut.

Braff being a guest star in this first season reunites him with series creator Lawrence, who also created Scrubs, the hit NBC & ABC series also starring Braff that ran for nine seasons.

Bad Monkey is created by executive producer and showrunner Bill Lawrence through his Doozer Productions. Vaughn & Lawrence are executive producing with Jeff Ingold, Matt Tarses, Marcos Siega, & Liza Katzer.

When does "Bad Monkey" premiere on Apple TV+?

The 10-episode series premieres globally on the streaming service with the first two episodes on August 14, 2024 followed by new episodes every Wednesday through October 9.
