800 Pound Gorilla Media is teaming up with multi-talented comedian Brent Pella to release a "Best of Brent Pella Sketch" compilation video on 800 Pound Gorilla's Youtube channel.
This is the first sketch comedy project to be distributed by 800PGM, already a flagship destination for stand-up comedy. "While we're actively collaborating with comics on their specials, we also like the idea of promoting other projects they've done," said Damion Greiman, one of the founders of 800PGM. "One standout example of this is Brent’s sketch show, which we loved. The bigger idea is to expand on our collaborations and develop new projects like this in the future."
Brent Pella is a comedian and filmmaker popular for his YouTube sketches. His sketches often make fun of politics and the different types of absurd people he deals with in California. Brent is also a nationally touring stand-up with a new stand up special Conscious Bro set to premiere on 800 Pound Gorilla's YouTube channel March 14th.
"We work for two groups of people: comedians and our audience of comedy fans," said Marcus Lustig, one of the heads of Creative Development at 800PGM leading the new Pictures team. “This is a perfect example of how we see this next phase of the company playing out. A comedy fan can come to 800pgm.com to watch a stand-up special from Brent and then discover his hilarious sketch show or vice versa. Our audience gets to come to one place to enjoy all types of comedy from someone like Brent and we get to work with comedians we respect on projects beyond only stand-up that are cool, funny, and important to them."
This sketch compilation is the first small step in the new 800 Pound Gorilla Pictures initiative that will continue to roll out over this year, according to Greiman and Lustig. 800PGM will release more licensed scripted comedy. What's more, 800PGM is already producing scripted originals to be released later this year.
"Best of Brent Pella Sketch" will premiere on 800 Pound Gorilla's YouTube channel on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 7 PM CT.
