David Cross' Latest Comedy Special Proves He Is The "Worst Daddy In The World"

David Cross.
David Cross.

You know comedy legend David Cross from his classic characters on his critically acclaimed TV shows Mr. Show with Bob and David & the famous Tobias Fünke on Arrested Development. You also know him from his Grammy nominated comedy albums & specials including …America…Great & Shut Up You F***ing Baby.

He also now has eight stand-up comedy specials to his name with his newest hour available now with 800 Pound Gorilla, Worst Daddy In The World.

What to know about David Cross' latest hour, "Worst Daddy In The World."

The new hour was worked out on his past headlining Worst Daddy In The World tour where he brought fellow comic Sean Patton to warm up each show. Shortly after wrapping his US string of dates, he taped the new hour this past summer at The Metro in Chicago. This new special follows his previous 2022 hour, I'm From The Future.

When speaking with The Guardian about his latest special, Cross revealed how its title came together. It was the moment when his six year old daughter called him "the worst daddy in the world" in light of his left of center parenting style. While most parents wouldn't desire to hear this kind of affirmation when raising their kids, Cross "felt nothing but gratitude" for that statement given the darkly comic vibe of his stand-up routine.

David Cross: Worst Daddy In The World will be available to watch on YouTube for free tonight, February 28th at 9 PM CT. David will be hanging in the live chat watching alongside fans answering questions & more live. It's also available to purchase here on 800 Pound Gorilla!

What else has David Cross been up to in addition to stand-up comedy?

The comedian, writer, actor, and now podcaster has been on quite an exceptional roll lately beyond his fantastic stand-up career.

Last December, Cross launched his hilarious & entertaining new comedy podcast Senses Working Overtime, where he's brought on an all-star lineup of guests & his friends including Bob Odenkirk, Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, Steve-O, his wife Amber Tamblyn & more. Check it out on his YouTube channel.

Cross also announced that he'll be joining the cast of the Netflix series, The Umbrella Academy, for their fourth and final season premiering on August 8th. Last year, David also starred in the Julia Louis-Dreyfus film, You Hurt My Feelings, and the FX series, Justified: City Primeval.
