Comedy & SNL Legend Chris Farley Has A Biopic In The Works

Here's a new biopic that all comedy fans are sure to be stoked about: Saturday Night Live star & comedy legend Chris Farley is getting his own biopic currently in the works.

What to know about the Chris Farley biopic.

The movie will be based on the critically acclaimed biography “The Chris Farley Show: A Biography in Three Acts” written by Tom Farley Jr. (Chris Farley’s brother) and Tanner Colby that tells the remarkable story of the comedy icon. SNL creator & executive producer Lorne Michaels, who cast Farley on the show in the early '90s, is involved & will be producing via his Broadway Video production banner. The movie is currently being shopped around town to find its movie studio home.

Oscar and Emmy nominees Scott Neustadter & Michael H. Weber (who've worked on the 2017 satirical dark comedy The Disaster Artist & the romantic comedy (500) Days of Summer) will write the screenplay.

Golden Globe & Emmy award winning actor Paul Walter Hauser is attached to portray Farley, who's film credits include Richard Jewell, I, Tonya and Cruella. Josh Gad will be making his directorial debut for the project.

It goes without saying that the film & comedy world was absolutely shook by Farley's death, who was taken way too soon after relapsing & passing from an overdose in 1997 at 33. Beyond being a cast member on SNL, he would go on to star in some of the most iconic comedy films including Tommy Boy, Black Sheep & Beverly Hills Ninja. Farley's impact continues to be celebrated by his previous collaborators & cast mates Adam Sandler, David Spade, Rob Schneider & so many more beyond Studio 8H.

Knowing that the currently untitled project has the Farley Family's blessing and Michaels is involved in the movie, this is certainly going to be a film we've got our eyes & ears close to and cannot wait to find more unfold!

The news was first reported by Deadline.
