James McCann hails from a land where Santa Claus’ transport of choice is a surfboard, Australia. His hometown Adelaide, South Australia must have influenced his decision to name his July release comedy special, Christmas Special. While odd, having Christmas in the middle of the summer has some perks. Imagine going to the beach on Christmas day, well that is a reality for many Australians.

McCann has officially joined the artillery of Australian comics on the stand up stage. McCann is in good company with the likes of Luke Kidgell, Josh Glanc, Tom Ballard, Dan Rath, Tom Cashman, & Daniel Muggleton. Speaking of great company, McCann has been touring with Shane GIllis this year in addition to previously sharing the stage with Mark Normand, Matt McCusker, Tim Dillon, and Sam Talent at venues like New York’s Radio City Music Hall, Los Angeles’ Crypto Arena, and Joe Rogan’s Comedy Mothership Club in Austin. To captivate thousands of fans is no small feat.

McCann also hosts the podcast, The James Donald Forbes McCann Catamaran Plan in addition to guest appearances on Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast, Stuff Island, Chubby Behemoth, The Crowject, New Polity, Pints with Aquinas, etc. He has specifically found a home as a guest on Kill Tony with fellow Austin-based comedians Tony Hinchcliffe & Brian Redban.

Like many stand-up comedians, McCann is also a writer. He has written for shows like Tonightly with Tom Ballard and Corey White's Roadmap to Paradise. He has also written essays and poems for periodicals such as AGONY, The Spectator, The Australian, News.com.au, Quadrant, etc.

After a career like this, McCann is ready to make a Christmas Album, that is a Christmas Comedy album. Like the holiday superstar Mariah Carey, “all [he wants] for Christmas is you” to watch his Christmas Special.
