Watch: Kamala Harris Cracks A Cold One With Stephen Colbert On "The Late Show"

With every tumultuous & intense election season comes the opportunities for the worlds of politics & comedy to come together when a new lineup of political figures are out campaigning to be president. This usually comes in the form of our traditional presidential parodies seen on Saturday Night Live like Maya Rudolph portraying Kamala Harris & current SNL cast member James Austin Johnson portraying Donald Trump. This also comes in the form of political candidates making their rounds on notable late night shows & comedy podcasts to get in front of their non-traditional audiences while campaigning (a recent example is comedian Theo Von welcoming former president Donald Trump to guest on his podcast This Past Weekend).

And now, with less than a month towards the US election, we're seeing the two presidential candidates actively making their rounds to get out the vote & inform citizens on why they should be president.

Last night, Vice President & current democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris made an appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. This marked one of the many on her active media blitz this week in addition to visiting other shows ahead of the late night appearance like Howard Stern on Sirius XM, The View (where she praised Maya Rudolph's impression of her on SNL), & the podcast Call Her Daddy with Alex Cooper.

Harris' visit on The Late Show didn't go without any jokes & some light-hearted fun: he offered her a Miller High Life so he could test out the "vibe election" & see if she's someone he would "want to have a beer with." Harris responds after accepting his drink, “The last time I had beer was at a baseball game with Doug [Emhoff],” before repeating the lager brand’s slogan, “The champagne of beers.”

Earlier on in their conversation, Colbert reflected on Harris' campaign since announcing in July that she would be taking over the democratic seat for President Biden. He jokes how since announcing her campaign in July, her & Colbert have been texting back and forth. "Usually you'll send me a text, 'Hey, Stephen. It's Kamala. For just $5, you can make a difference in this campaign.'" he jokingly recalls. "And I will go, you know, I will be like "Stop" like that. You know I don't mean it. Because they don't stop."
