It's been a long time coming for comedian Matt Mathews to arrive at this moment in his quickly rising career as an established stand-up comedian. If you had told Mathews years ago that his farmer chore videos from the start of the pandemic would lead to him amassing his over 4.5 million followers on TikTok & 2 million on Instagram with an international headlining club & theater tour (featuring a freshly sold out show at London's Leicester Square Theatre), he would've said you're crazy.
Now, the multi-talented performer has been busy playing sold out shows on his When That Thang Get Ta Thang’n tour & is getting ready to tape his first ever stand-up special in his hometown Birmingham, Alabama at the Alabama Theatre on July 20th.
On his current run, Mathews gives a glimpse into his daily life of living on a farm, growing up as a gay man in Alabama, his career as a boudoir photographer, relationships, and taboo sexual encounters. Matt also brings his ever-popular “Confessions with Matt” video series to the live stage, where he provides a real-time comedic take on audience members who voluntarily spill their deepest, darkest secrets.
His confessional series on stage is where his situational humor & physical comedy shines. In the many bits he shares online, he offers his take on how fans should navigate dating their partner and does it in his Southern signature that makes these live reactions so transcendent.
When he's not performing on stage, Mathews is running his thriving business as a boudoir photographer where he serves women of all shapes and sizes to come & experience luxurious boudoir sessions and walk away feeling sexy, empowered & beautiful.
His farmer chore videos paved the way for his current headlining tour, his series of videos giving a day in the life of what it's like to be farmer while sporting his robe (completely unfiltered) & hilariously cussing out his animals as he feeds them and does other necessary chores.
