Saturday Night Live has booked their final two hosts for Season 49! Just before Dua Lipa will take the Studio 8H stage this Saturday night to take on double duty responsibilities (being the host & musical guest), closing out the show will be three-peats Maya Rudolph & Jake Gyllenhaal.
The esteemed comedy institution has been on quite a roll so far this season with memorable hosting stints from Kristen Wiig, Ryan Gosling & Shane Gillis among others.
When are Maya Rudolph & Jake Gyllenhaal hosting "Saturday Night Live"?
On May 11th, SNL alum Maya Rudolph will return to host for the third time & joining her will be musical guest, Vampire Weekend. Rudolph was a part of the cast of the landmark sketch show from 2000-2007. The comedian & actress is currently starring in the second season of her Apple TV+ comedy series, Loot, & was recently recognized on the Time100 list of most influential people of 2024 alongside Alex Edelman (only one of two comedians to make the list).
On My 18th, Jake Gyllenhaal will return to host the Season 49 finale also making this his third time hosting with musical guest, Sabrina Carpenter (who will be making her debut on the show). Gyllenhaal stars in the new action reboot of Roadhouse on Prime Video & previously performed sketch comedy on John Mulaney's variety special, John Mulaney & The Sack Lunch Bunch, on Netflix.
With Season 49 soon coming to a close, this leaves all the anticipation of what's to come later this year for Season 50 on NBC, the currently filming SNL 1975 movie & Chris Farley's recently announced biopic. We're excited to see what these two stars have in store for the final two shows this season!
