"Girls5eva" Prep Their Comeback Tour In Season 3 Trailer For Netflix Debut

In October 2022, the musical comedy series, Girls5eva, was canceled by Peacock after running for only two seasons. Shortly after getting canceled, Netflix was the saving grace and picked up the tv series for a third season in a very unexpected turn of events.

This move is credited to the show creator Meredith Scardino and its executive producers Scardino, Tina Fey, Robert Carlock, David Miner, Eric Gurian and Jeff Richmond. This team (who's also behind the hit shows Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt & 30 Rock) had an existing relationship with the streaming giant following the success of Kimmy Schmidt which gave this show the third green light it deserved. There's also a new "The Four Seasons" series in development with Fey attached.

And today, we have a first look at season 3 of Girls5eva with the show's newly released trailer. The girl-group's revival even features their first TV performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (watch the trailer above).

What's happening in season 3 of "Girls5eva"?

The show's third season finds the late ‘90s girl-group Girls5eva – Dawn (Sara Bareilles), Wickie (Renee Elise Goldsberry), Summer (Busy Philipps), and Gloria (Paula Pell) – reuniting together once again and finished recording their new album, Returnity. This leads them to plot out the ultimate comeback tour.

The synopsis continues: "with no plan, tour manager, or venues secured, the ladies pile into a van and hit the great unknown, doing their damnedest to promote their album and get back on top. In the process, Girls5eva will grapple with life on the road, see their relationships tested, play a billionaire’s birthday party, sow their oats, confront parents they believe held them back, cross paths with the biggest pop star on the planet, and question if they really want “the big time” again."

When does season 3 of "Girls5eva" premiere?

Girls5eva Season 3 premieres exclusively on Netflix beginning March 14, 2024 (which is also when Seasons 1 and 2 will become available on the streamer).
