This week's weekly comedy update is slightly different than our usual Monday post this week. In honor of the holidays going on these next two weeks, this will be our final This Week In Comedy for 2023. Instead of bringing you our regular This Week In Comedy programming, we present to you This Fortnight In Comedy: the next two weeks of comedy events closing out the rest of 2023.
What to expect for the rest of 2023 in comedy.
This final stretch of 2023 brings us a stellar round-up of comedy specials to close out the year strong: this stacked cast includes Trevor Noah, Gary Gulman, Brad Williams, Ricky Gervais & Dave Chappelle.
In Trevor Noah's fourth original Netflix special, Where Was I, “he shares his hilarious experiences from his recent travels around the world, ranging from foreign national anthems to varying cultural norms.”
Later this week, Gary Gulman brings his highly anticipated follow-up to 2019's The Great Depresh with his new Conan O'Brien produced special for Max, Born on 3rd Base. In Gulman's new hour, he “offers up his hilarious insights on a range of topics – from growing up poor to pretentious suffixes – all with a generous helping of his inventive humor and absurdism. Reflecting on his eccentric Jewish American family, Gulman chronicles his childhood experiences with free school lunch programs and questionable dental care, as well as incisive swipes at billionaire-ism.”
Plus, Brad Williams' new hour Starfish will premiere on Veeps this Thursday. The new hour “sees him talk about navigating relationships and everyday life as a little person.” Adding on that "he selected December 21st as its premiere date given the fact that “it’s the shortest day of the year!”
And finally, two comedy legends Ricky Gervais & Dave Chappelle, will each close out the year with their newest specials premiering on Netflix on Christmas Day & New Year's Eve respectively.
