June is here, which means it's time to share our outstanding lineup for this month's Special Tapings Radar. This is where we showcase & highlight all the funniest comedians who are getting ready to record their next stand-up comedy special & album this upcoming month. There are plenty of fantastic specials on the horizon to look forward to in 2024 & beyond (check out February, March, April & May's recaps of who you can look out for in the near future).

Here are 8 of the funniest comics who you need to see and be in the room for their next comedy special taping if you can (and are still able to if the show hasn't sold out yet). Your chance to be in the room for a live comedy special is closer than you think. Here's everyone you need to pay attention to that's recording their next hour during the month of June.

Felipe Esparza

Felipe Esparza is a stand-up comedian and actor who has come a long way since winning NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” in 2010. While that may have opened doors and helped build his fan base around the country, his hard work and focus in more recent years has brought him longevity. With three successful stand-up specials on Netflix and HBO, his “What’s Up Fool? Podcast” holding steady as one of the top comedy podcasts for the last eight years, and his sold out tour dates all over the country, Felipe is now at a point where he is moving more into TV and film. He has been a recurring favorite on TV Shows such as “Superstore”, “The Eric Andre Show”, “Gentefied”, and “Victor and Valentino”, as well as appearing in films including “Guest House” with Pauly Shore, “7th & Union” with Omar Chaparro, “Daddy Daughter Trip” with Rob Schneider and “You People” with Eddie Murphy and Jonah Hill.

Esparza will be taping his fourth comedy special on June 1st at the Crest Theatre in Sacramento, CA. Tickets are available here!

Michelle Buteau

Michelle Buteau is the creator/writer/star of the Netflix series Survival of the Thickest, inspired by her autobiographical book of essays of the same name, published by Gallery Books. She is also the host of two popular reality competition shows: The Circle and Barbecue Showdown on Netflix. Other film and TV credits include Marry Me, First Wives Club, Always Be My Maybe, Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens, Russian Doll, and Someone Great. Michelle co-hosts the popular podcast Adulting with fellow comedian Jordan Carlos. Michelle’s one-hour comedy special Welcome To Buteaupia is streaming on Netflix and won the Critics Choice Award for Best Comedy Special. She also currently stars in the new movie Babes alongside Ilana Glazer & Hasan Minhaj.

Jason Sáenz

Bolivian-American comedian Jason Sáenz is taping his hit solo show, The Wheel World at the Lyric Hyperion Theatre in Los Angeles on June 8 and 14. In The Wheel World, comedian Jason Sáenz tells the story of when he fell through a skylight onto a flight of stairs during a third date six years ago. This accident and the subsequent month-long battle against spinal meningitis in the ICU left Sáenz paralyzed.

The Wheel World presents all the grim and intimate details of becoming a paraplegic in Hollywood. Sáenz shares his struggles with grief, adapting to changes in wheelchair accessibility, accepting limitations in his new body, his wheelchair-bound TV roles, altering his perception of sex and manhood, accepting his new bathroom routines, accepting love, and finally, pursuing fatherhood. Jason’s previous performances of The Wheel World have regularly sold out and he’s back with special tapings set for June 8 and 14 at The Lyric Hyperion Theater in Los Angeles. The Wheel World is presented and written by Jason Sáenz and directed by Lauren Adams (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Greener Grass, Modern Family).

Tom Papa

With more than 20 years as a stand-up comedian, Tom Papa is one of the top comedic voices in the country, finding success as an actor, host, and author, in film, TV, radio and podcasts as well as on the live stage.

The comedian has had 5 highly rated stand-up specials on Netflix including his most recently Netflix special, What A Day! The special was taped at the iconic Wilbur Theatre in Boston. His other critically acclaimed specials include Human Mule, Freaked Out and Tom Papa Live in New York City, two of which were directed by Rob Zombie.

Seth Meyers

Seth Myers came to our attention as the head writer of SNL, and the host of Weekend Update, anchoring the famous desk for a record-breaking 8 seasons!

In 2014 he moved behind a different desk, taking over Jimmy Fallon's Late Night Show. The show has since flourished into appointment viewing for anyone interested in cutting political commentary and pop-culture riffing, with the 'A Closer Look' segment becoming a particular favorite. Venturing outside the Rockafella Plaza for one of his occasional stand-up dates, expect some more personal material alongside Late Night-style dissection when he comes to the stage this year. He'll be shooting the follow up special to 2019's critically raving Lobby Baby on Netflix.

Meyers will be taping his next special June 15th at The Vic Theatre in Chicago, IL. While that show is sold out, he'll be performing the same hour the night before on June 14th (which is not a taping night according to his website). Limited tickets are left & available here!

Josh Gondelman

Josh Gondelman is a writer and comedian who incubated in Boston before moving to New York City, where he currently lives and recently worked as the head writer and an executive producer for Desus & Mero on Showtime. Gondelman also contributed to the final season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which was a thrill for both him and his parents. Prior to that, he spent five years at Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, first as a web producer and then as a staff writer where he earned four Emmy Awards, two Peabody Awards, and three WGA Awards. His debut standup special People Pleaser (2022) was produced by Comedy Dynamics and is available to stream now.

Gondelman will be taping his next special on June 21st at The Bell House in New York, NY. He's riding into this next special strong already - because his special taping is sold out!
