Every month, 800 Pound Gorilla News scours the comedy cosmos, on the hunt for the comedy world's rising stars & biggest acts who are about to tape their next hour and we put 'em all here in our Special Tapings Radar. This is where we showcase & highlight all the funniest comedians who are getting ready to record their next stand-up comedy special & album this upcoming month.


Here are 10 fantastic comics who you need to see and be in the room for their next comedy special taping if you can (and are still able to if the show hasn't sold out yet). Your chance to be in the room for a live comedy special is closer than you think. Here's everyone you need to pay attention to that's recording their next hour during the month of March.

Chad Daniels

With over a billion streams of his 8 albums to date, Chad Daniels is one of the most listened to comedians of all time. Chad has lived in Minnesota his whole life while also touring the country for over 20 years. He has made 6 late night appearances to date and is one of only 13 comics to be featured on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien. Chad co-hosts the podcast Middle of Somewhere with friend Cy Amundson.


He recently launched his second podcast, Pretend Problems, alongside his girlfriend Kelsey Cook. His latest special, Mixed Reviews, can be found on YouTube, and his kids tell him you can find him on Instagram and TikTok.

Reggie Watts

Reggie Watts is an internationally renowned musician/comedian/writer/actor who most recently starred as the bandleader on CBS’s The Late Late Show with James Corden. Sam Tripoli

Sam Tripoli is a 28 year headlining comedic who currently has five comedy albums out including his latest special “#NoLivesMatter!” He has appeared in the Movie “Dying Laughing”, Showtimes’s “The Comedy Store”, CW’s Mysteries Decoded & co-hosted Spike TV’s Wild World of Spike. Sam is an OG of the legendary The Ice House Chronicles and The Joe Rogan Experience podcasts. Sam Morril

Sam Morril is one of the fastest-rising stand-up comics in New York City and one of the best joke writers in the scene today. He was a regular on Comedy Central’s This Week at the Comedy Cellar, where he appeared on frequently when not touring cities across the nation. He was named one of Comedy Central’s Comics to Watch in 2011 and has performed multiple stand-up sets on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Late, Late Show with James Corden and Conan. He’s also had stints on Last Comic Standing, America’s Got Talent, @midnight with Chris Hardwick, and Inside Amy Schumer. Morril can be heard on the podcast We Might Be Drunk with co-host Mark Normand and seen on Netflix’s That’s My Time with David Letterman. His special, Same Time Tomorrow, can also be streamed on Netflix.

Joe Gatto

Joe Gatto is known for the hit TV shows Impractical Jokers and The Misery Index. He founded The Tenderloins Comedy Troupe with his co-stars in 1999. The troupe has toured with a live comedy show to sold-out crowds across the world, including legendary arenas, such as Madison Square Garden in New York and the O2 Arena in London. Joe has appeared on podcasts including This Past Weekend with Theo Von, What A Joke with Papa and Fortune and Life is Short with Justin Long. Jessica Kirson

Jessica Kirson is a powerhouse on stage. She’s a hilariously relatable performer of sheer silliness, vulnerability, and ridiculous characters. Her countless comedic character videos have racked up over 200 million views on social media. Her audience is multigenerational, creating an excuse for large groups of friends and families to spend a night out together. In an era where only 10% of all touring comedians are female, Jessica stands out as one of the strongest comedians regardless of gender.


Jessica produced FX’s Hysterical, a feature-length documentary that premiered at SXSW 2021. Cam Bertrand

It took Cam Bertrand all of 3 weeks to drop out of college and pursue comedy full time. In the short time since, he has been a contributing writer on 2 seasons of MTV’s hit show ‘Wild’N’Out’, taped his first half hour special 'Sophisticated Ignorance' for Dry Bar Comedy which has already garnered over 90 million views, and has competed on 'America’s Got Talent' for NBC.

Hannah Einbinder

Hannah Einbinder is an LA-based comedian, writer, and actress. Her performance alongside Jean Smart in Max’s Hacks earned her Emmy and Critics’ Choice Award nominations for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Though Hacks marks Einbinder’s first major television role, she is no stranger to the comedy world; she has owned the stage as a stand-up comedian at venues and festivals around the country and made her network television debut on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert in early 2020. Hannah was named one of Variety’s “10 Comics to Watch for 2021,” a 2019 New Face of Comedy at Montreal’s prestigious Just For Laughs comedy festival, and was highlighted as one of Vulture’s “Comics to Watch of 2019,” cementing herself as one of the wittiest emerging talents in the industry.

Hannah Berner

Hannah Berner was born in Brooklyn, New York and emerged on the comedy scene by writing, directing, editing, and acting in videos on social media and writing viral tweets.


She has two podcasts, Giggly Squad and Berner Phone with over 50 million downloads. She was a cohost on Bravo’s Chat Room, as well as a member of Bravo’s Summer House for three seasons, and has over 4 million followers across her social media platforms.


She has interviewed Jennifer Lawrence, Hailey Bieber, Priyanka Chopra, Kesha, and the Jonas Brothers. She currently is on a theater tour across America for her stand up comedy. In 2022, she was named one of Just For Laughs “New Faces Of Comedy" in Montreal. She was recently named one of Variety’s “Top Ten Comics to Watch in 2023”.

Ian Karmel

Ian Karmel is an Emmy award winning LA-based stand-up comedian, actor, and writer. Originally from Portland, Oregon, he is currently co-head writer for the Emmy award winning The Late Late Show with James Cordon, of which Ian was one of the founding writers in the show's 2015 re-creation. Previously he was a staff writer and round table regular on E!'s Chelsea Lately. Ian's stand-up has been featured on Conan, The Late Late Show, Comedy Central, and most recently showcased on Netflix's The Comedy Line Up: Part 1. His debut comedy album, 9.2 on Pitchfork, was released in 2015 to rave reviews. Ian also hosts the weekly podcast All Fantasy Everything, from Headgum studios. Featured on many best of lists, it's a lighthearted show where funny people and experts come together to fantasy draft pop culture.
