Maggie Maye masterfully weaves together an hour of hilarious insights on her life. Maye covers everything from suspicious cartoon characters to consolation prizes for chronic illness in her debut special Sweet Enough. She will leave you wondering if anyone has actually won an internet argument. Maye's insatiable sweet tooth for laughter has led to the creation of her debut special Sweet Enough.
Maye debuted on the late night scene on Conan and was featured on Last Call with Carson Daly. Like many stand-ups Maye is also a writer, writing for the New Yorker and the Netflix show hosted by Nicolas Cage, History of Swear Words. Maye has also appeared on the comedy show about a lesbian couple who host a stand-up showcase, Take My Wife and performed on Quibi’s Comedy Swap.
Maye has made her way around comedy festivals, performing at Just for Laughs, Bridgetown, SF Sketchfest, FunFunFun Fest, Moontower, and SXSW. Huffington Post, Variety, LaughSpin, the New York Times, and Splitsider all recognized her talent. Before moving to LA and joining United Citizens Brigade (UCB) in 2017, Maye made her mark on the Austin improv scene. She was, in fact, named 2016’s Best of Austin Stand up Comic by the Austin Chronicle. Maye’s acclaim inevitably reached some of the biggest names in comedy, allowing her to open for the likes of Maria Bamford, Hannibal Buress, Gladys Knight, and, oddly enough, the famed 70s soul band Earth, Wind and Fire.
Maye’s comedy and her personality are one in the same: silly but clever. Although Maye is able to use her smarts to make adults laugh, her real pride comes from when a 6-year-old told her she was the funniest person ever and kids are notoriously honest.
