Mary Beth Barone sparkles on stage not only because of her archival Versace chainmail dress that was once worn by Kate Moss, but because of her brilliant sense of humor in her debut stand-up special, Thought Provoking, available now to stream wherever you listen to comedy via 800 Pound Gorilla. Barone proves her intelligence and wit as she covers the Vietnam War, AI, and what it’s like to get a wax in this breakout new hour

Before she self produced Thought Provoking, Barone made her late-night television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Since then Barone has been headlining sold-out shows at New York Comedy Fest, Netflix Is A Joke Fest, and the Edinburgh Fringe.

Barone, like many stand-up comedians, is a triple threat with acting and writing chops to boot. Barone was a lead in The Anne Frank Gift Shop, which was shortlisted for an Oscar in 2024 in the best live action short category. She has also been cast in the latest season of Netflix’s hit show, Black Mirror. Her writing has also gotten accolades with her feature script, You’re My Best Friend, garnering a spot on The Black List. Barone’s popular podcast Ride, which she co-hosts alongside Benito Skinner for Dear Media, debuted top 10 on Spotify. Now you can find Barone and her glittering charm at venues all over New York City.

In Thought Provoking, Mary Beth Barone’s hilariously dry and almost dead-pan style of comedy makes an ironic debut as she shines, both literally and figuratively, on stage. Barone doesn’t hold back as she covers her confusion by TERFs (Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminists), exit from Catholicism, and coming out as bisexual. Barone even comes after Democrats as she imitates their sad, desperate fundraising text messages.
