Mitzi McCall - best known for her work with husband Charlie Brill as part of the comedy team McCall and Brill - has passed away at the age of 91.
Remembering the life & legacy of Mitzi McCall.
McCall first got her start in Pittsburgh both onstage and on local television. In the mid-1960’s, McCall and Brill were playing shows throughout Los Angeles when they got invited to go on The Ed Sullivan Show, a big thrill for any performer of that era. Their particular episode - February 9th, 1964 - featured the U.S. debut of a band from England called The Beatles. Sadly, the Beatlemania overshadowed their appearance. However, the two kept performing in nightclubs all over, and even put out an album in 1967, titled From Our Point of View.
McCall was featured in various TV shows and movies over the years. Some of her credits include Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In, World’s Greatest Dad, Ice Age, The Flintstones, American Dad, Match Game, The Twilight Zone, Seinfeld, Maude, Hannah Montana, Caroline in the City, Chuck, and countless others.
She is survived by her husband and longtime comedy partner, Charlie Brill.
