Mo Mandel.

Mo Mandel Is Mastering Being A Dad & Stand-Up Comedian In His New Special, “Trying To Make It”

Mo Mandel will make you lose your marbles cackling in his new special Trying To Make It. Before making it onto his own special, Mandel has made the rounds on talk shows. He has appeared 40 times on Chelsea Lately, as well as multiple times on Conan and The Late Late Show. Beyond talk shows, Mandel has also made his way around the sitcom circuit. Mandel has made appearances on the breakout shows Curb Your Enthusiasm, Modern Family, Castle, Happy Endings, and starred in NBC’S Free Agents. His audio career is also bustling with being a guest on the popular podcasts The Adam Carolla Show, Bertcast, Your Mom’s House, and The Fighter And The Kid. Mandel has even created his own show, Comedy Knockout for truTV and HBO Max.

Throughout his storied television career, Mandel has been building on his comedy specials. First, Mandel landed a half-hour special on Comedy Central. Then he expanded it to a whole hour for Amazon. His comedy canon shows Mandel’s incredible effort and commitment to comedy, culminating to produce his third special, Trying To Make It.

In his new special, Trying To Make It has a double meaning. Mandel opens up about how him and his wife have had issues trying to conceive a baby. Mandel is also quite transparent about his struggle with sobriety. His vulnerability pays off and makes us see the light in an otherwise dark situation. Mandel also shares what it's like to be married to a doctor and yet he still wonders why spouses always murder each other. Trying to Make It was filmed in the heat of summer in Phoenix, Arizona but it wasn’t just the scorching sun that was packing in the heat.
