Sometimes enlightenment comes when we least expect it and for Helliar this message rings truer than ever. The world we live in is crazy, loopy even, and all we can do is laugh about it.
Helliar’s stand-up special, Loopy laughs in the face of conspiracy. Having made the difficult business of being funny look dead easy for over 25 years, Helliar has been branching outside of stand-up. He has been appearing on Network Ten’s second season of Taskmaster and is a repeat panelist on Have you Been Paying Attention. Helliar has also co-produced two series of the award winning It’s A Date for ABC TV. He also worn many different hats having expanded his talents as a writer, director, and star of all three seasons of Network 10’s dramedy How to Stay Married. As if network television wasn’t enough to satisfy Helliar’s creative appetite, Helliar also created and hosts the hilarious cinema podcast, You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet. As many multi talented entertainers, particularly comedians, do once entering parenthood, Helliar decided to write children’s books by the names of Frankie Fish and Herman Crab which proved to be highly successful. Always ready to take on a new venture, Helliar, along with his wife, has most recently joined the cast of The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition which premiered this week on Channel 10.
