Comedy legend Dana Carvey returned to the Fly On The Wall podcast this week for the first time since his son, Dex Carvey, tragically passed away at the age of 32 unexpectedly last Fall.
The comedian & podcast host took a well deserved break from work & social media as he shared on Instagram saying he's "trying to figure out what life looks like now that we're a family of 3. We will heal the best we can and carry on. Our darling Dex would have wanted it that way."
Opening the show's returning episode, Carvey began sharing about the continued healing process he's going through and also remembering while on his break "it's really cool to laugh...doing this and riffing with you (David Spade) I think is going to be very healthy."
Carvey continues, “I’m kind of on the pain train. You don’t know how long you’re going to be on it or when it will stop or when it will get better. In the meantime, all this kind of stuff is very healthy.”
What's the "Fly On The Wall" podcast about?
The two Saturday Night Live alums host their weekly podcast where they take fans behind the scenes to reminisce about their memorable stories & moments with their friends of SNL. Recent guests have included Seth Meyers, Nate Bargatze, Amy Poehler, Leslie Jones, Steve Martin & Martin Short just to name a few.
In Carvey's absence, co-host David Spade has been hosting the show solo with guests Jim Breuer, Dan Akroyd, David Byrne & releasing best of episodes from the past year.
Carvey & Spade had a great first episode return keeping things light and fun with fans excited for more episodes to come.
Further on in this unique host to host episode with no guest this week, the two comics dished out on their recent experiences at this season's award shows (including the Golden Globes), recent weather on tour, de-icing planes, and their newly announced spinoff podcast called SuperFly.
