New Girl stars, Hannah Simone (Cece) and Lamorne Morris (Winston), are returning to revive the show’s infamous Cece-Winston Mess Arounds in the second season of their hit podcast, The Mess Around, as they recount behind the scenes shenanigans while rewatching the Emmy-nominated series.
The Mess Around joins the artillery of podcasts hosted by sitcom castmates turned close friends like The Office Ladies–Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey from The Office–Fake Doctors, Real Friends–Zach Braff and Donald Faison from Scrubs–and the new podcast More Better–Melissa Fumero and Stephanie Beatriz from Brooklyn 99.
Lucky for us, Simone and Morris followed the castmates to dear friends trope, giving us the perfect excuse to relive one of our favorite shows. The Mess Around brings in all of the loft's favorite guest stars, writers and directors, Jake Johnson and Max Greenfield to be among them, to help the hosts go bear hunting. Yes, bear hunting. As a hard core fan might know, bears are referenced in every episode either in the script or on set and The Mess Around is dedicated to scouring every grizzly detail.
Since New Girl, Simone has made a name for herself in the comedy world, particularly in sitcoms. Her latest role is opposite Gina Rodriguez in ABC’s Not Dead Yet, about an obituary writer who is haunted by the ghosts of her subjects. Morris led the hybrid live-action/animated Hulu series WOKE, inspired by the life and art of cartoonist Keith Knight. More recently you can find him in the upcoming second season of Netflix’s Unstable and the feature film SNL 1975 in which he portrays the illustrious Garrett Morris.
