In the midst of a pandemic, Tom Gleeson reminds us it’s not a sin to Lighten Up . The stand-up comedian sold out crowds and received five star reviews for his 2020/2021 cross country Lighten Up tour. For this new special, Gleeson comes to the tour armed with his as the Herald Sun and sharp humor for which he won a Gold Logie for his role as a host on the hit, 8 season long show, Hard Quiz. The 2021 comedy special is a reflection of its time, commenting on the brush fires, lockdowns, online shopping, day drinking, and even border security. The Australian is also not afraid to come after the staple of his homeland, koalas.
The Australian comedy scene has been overflowing with talent. Gleeson shares the Australian stage with Luke Kidgell, Josh Glanc, Tom Ballard, Dan Rath, Tom Cashman, Daniel Muggleton, James McCann & Celia Pacquola. Gleeson has even fulfilled every aussie comic’s dream, filling the iconic Sydney Opera House.
His 20 years of experience has earned him a very crowded trophy shelf where the AACTA, ARIA and Helpmann Awards all accompany his Gold Logie. After the success of Hard Quiz, Gleeson bagged the role of Taskmaster for the Australian leg of the network 10 show which just got renewed for a second season.
