We're more than half way through 2024 & it's been a killer year for comedy specials so far. Among the comics who've taped and released specials this year include Ramy Youssef's More Feelings on HBO & Hannah Einbinder's Everything Must Go on Max. Forthcoming specials from tapings earlier this year with dates include Sam Morril's You've Changed premiering on Prime Video July 9th, Hannah Berner's We Ride at Dawn premiering on Netflix also July 9th & Chad Daniels' Empty Nester premiering on Netflix July 16th.
And now, we have our latest lineup for July 2024's Special Tapings Radar. This is where we showcase & highlight all the funniest comedians who are getting ready to record their next stand-up comedy special & album this upcoming month (here's a refresher on specials to look out for coming up from June's radar).
Here are 5 of the funniest comics who you need to see and be in the room for their next comedy special taping if you can (and are still able to if the show hasn't sold out yet). Your chance to be in the room for a live comedy special is closer than you think. Here's everyone you need to pay attention to that's recording their next hour during the month of July!
Bert Kreischer
Bert Kreischer is having an exceptional 2024 so far. The 2 Bears, 1 Cave podcast co-host alongside Tom Segura launched the first ever 2 Bears 5K at Netflix Is A Joke Fest earlier this year and featured some of the biggest names in attendance including Jelly Roll, Shane Gillis, Whitney Cummings, Stavros Halkias & more. The two comedians also launched their first vodka brand inspired by their hit podcast called Por Osos earlier this year and also made a standout appearance at the Roast of Tom Brady on Netflix. Kreischer currently has four Netflix specials under his belt & will soon be adding a fifth.
Kreischer will be taping his next comedy special for Netflix on July 3rd & 5th-7th at the the Mahaffey Theatre in St. Petersburg, FL. Tickets are available here!
Hasan Minhaj
Hasan Minhaj is a two-time Peabody Award-Winning comedian best known for his breakout Netflix special Homecoming King and his critically acclaimed, political satire show Patriot Act for Netflix which won a Peabody, an Emmy, and a Television Academy Honor. His second one-hour comedy special The King's Jester premiered on Netflix in October 2022. This past year, Hasan has been touring his newest show, Off With His Head, and made a standout appearance at this year's Netflix Is A Joke Fest.
Minhaj will be taping his next special on July 12th & 13th at the San Jose Civic Center in San Jose, CA. Both shows are fully sold out!
Chris Alan
Chris Alan is a nationally touring standup, and podcaster, based out of Washington, DC. Chris’ style is a mix of well-crafted jokes and stories about his life ranging from his family to fatherhood, the military and marriage, coupled with quick-witted crowd interactions, the show can go anywhere at any time. Chris’s style keeps audiences engaged and on their toes.
He has shared the stage and opened for some of the best working comedians in the country, comics such as Roy Wood Jr, Michael Che, Mark Normand, Neal Brennan, Hannibal Buress, Colin Quinn, Bruce Bruce and others. He also hosts a growing weekly podcast The Chris Alan Show which is available on all streaming platforms. He’s currently touring clubs and venues across the country.

Gabriel Iglesias
Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias is a comedian who's been raising the bar with each new special & tour he's promoting. He made history with his most recent special for being the first stand-up comedian to headline & sell out Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles as part of the 2022 Netflix Is A Joke Fest. He also sits on a short list of comics who've headlined and sold out Madison Square Garden in New York, Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and The Sydney Opera House in Australia.
The 'Fluffy Guy' will soon be releasing his fourth & fifth specials for Netflix (as part of his recently announced deal with the streamer) following his previous specials Stadium Fluffy (2022), One Show Fits All (2019) & I'm Sorry For What I Said When I Was Hungry (2016). We've got our eyes on Fluffy with his next round of stand-up and look forward to seeing what he does next!

Matt Mathews
Matt Mathews has been making waves & rising quickly this year from being a farmer, going viral on TikTok, to now being a nationally touring stand-up comedian selling out theaters across the country on his newest tour, When That Thang Get Ta Thang’n. Mathews newest show gives a glimpse into his daily life of living on a farm, growing up as a gay man in Alabama, his career as a boudoir photographer, relationships, and taboo sexual encounters.
Mathews will be taping his first special July 20th at The Alabama Theatre in Birmingham, AL. The 8 PM show is currently sold out, but there are still tickets available for the 4 PM show. Grab yours here!
