Even after all these years, Netflix remains one of the biggest games in town when it comes to stand-up specials. That’s because they have such a wide reach in terms of audiences. This was proven especially true this week, when they released their list of the top performing specials on their platform from January until June 2024.
There was a time when Netflix never would’ve released those numbers. Within the past few years, however, that distinction has shifted and they’ve started embracing it slowly but surely. At the top of the list this year for stand-up specials is Dave Chappelle, who returned to the platform after announcing his 2021 special, The Closer, would be his last for a while. But beating him was actually The Roast of Tom Brady.
