This past October, Academy award winning actor, musician & stand-up comedian Jamie Foxx took to Atlanta to tape a new comedy special heading to Netflix. We've now got a premiere date for the anticipated hour - Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was... premieres globally on Netflix December 10th.
Everything to know about Jamie Foxx's new Netflix special.
Foxx's new special recounts the public medical emergency he went through in 2023 and from what fans can tell after watching Netflix's date announcement above, he is back & ready to set the record straight. The short teaser simply finds Foxx saying, "If I can stay funny, I could stay alive" while crowds are roaring and rumbling through the venue.
While the current logline doesn't provide much, what we do know based on Foxx teasing the new special in the works this past year is it finds him sharing "his journey through a serious health scare, filled with humor, heart, and inspiration" where he'll "open up about his struggles, triumphs, and everything in between."
The new special is directed by Hamish Hamilton, who just this year directed Nikki Glaser's Emmy nominated HBO special Someday You'll Die as well as this year's Grammys & Oscars ceremonies. Executive producing alongside Foxx & Hamilton is Datari Turner, Marcus King, James Longman, Raj Kapoor, & Katy Mullan.
