Looks like Jon Stewart has been enjoying his time at his ole stomping grounds on Comedy Central's The Daily Show since returning to host the staple satirical late night series earlier this year.
After initially signing on to host the show throughout the 2024 presidential election cycle, Comedy Central has announced he's sticking around all the way through the end of 2025.
In the new deal extension per the network, Stewart will continue his original duties hosting the show on Mondays & executive producing throughout the week with the current lineup of rotating correspondents (Desi Lydic, Ronny Chieng, Michael Kosta & Jordan Klepper) taking turns hosting on Tuesdays to Thursdays. The show's current lineup of correspondents also includes Dulcé Sloan, Troy Iwata, Josh Johnson, & Grace Kuhlenschmidt.
What Jon Stewart & Comedy Central are saying about "The Daily Show" hosting extension.
“I’ve truly enjoyed being back working with the incredible team at The Daily Show and Comedy Central. I was really hoping they’d allow me to do every other Monday, but I’ll just have to suck it up…,” Stewart jokingly shares in a statement.
Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global Co-CEO and President/CEO, Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios adds: "Jon's incisive intellect and sharp wit make him one of the most important voices in political and cultural commentary today. His ability to cut through the noise and deliver clear-eyed insights is exactly what we need which is why we are thrilled to have him leading The Daily Show for another year."
Ahead of announcing the new deal extension, The Daily Show under Stewart's leadership this year won the show an Emmy for Outstanding Talk Series. The series will air a live special hosted by Stewart on election night next Tuesday, November 5th.
The Daily Show airs weeknights at 11PM ET/PT on Comedy Central and streams next day on Paramount+.
