Kristen Wiig Stars In The New Comedy Mini-Series, "Palm Royale," At Apple TV+

Apple TV+ has unveiled the trailer for Palm Royale, the highly anticipated new mini-series starring Kristen Wiig navigating high society Palm Beach in 1969. Watch the Palm Royale trailer above.

What's the new show "Palm Royale" about?

Palm Royale is a true underdog story that follows Maxine Simmons (Wiig) as she endeavors to break into Palm Beach high society. As Maxine attempts to cross that impermeable line between the haves and the have-nots, “Palm Royale” asks the same question that still baffles us today: “How much of yourself are you willing to sacrifice to get what someone else has?” Set during the powder keg year of 1969, “Palm Royale” is a testament to every outsider fighting for their chance to truly belong.

The new series is loosely based on the novel Mr. & Mrs. American Pie by Juliet McDaniel.

Joining Wiig in the cast is a pretty critically-acclaimed supporting cast of Laura Dern, Allison Janney, Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas, Leslie Bibb, Amber Chardae Robinson, Mindy Cohn, Julia Duffy and Kaia Gerber, with extra special guest star turns by Bruce Dern and the iconic, comedic legend Carol Burnett.

What other comedy shows has Apple TV+ released?

The new Wiig & Dern executive produced show joins a solid roster of fellow comedy series on Apple TV+ including Jason Sudeikis' Ted Lasso, Jason Segel & Harrison Ford's Shrinking, Seth Rogen & Rose Byrne's Platonic to name a few. Maya Rudolph's Loot is also set to premiere a new season later this year.

When does Kristen Wiig's show "Palm Royale" premiere?

Palm Royale will debut globally on Apple TV+ with the first three episodes on March 20, 2024, followed by new episodes every Wednesday through May 8.
