More therapy sessions with Jimmy await! The hit Apple comedy series Shrinking, starring Jason Segel & Harrison Ford & co-created by Ted Lasso's Bill Lawrence, has scored a season 3 renewal at Apple TV+. The news comes as its anticipated second season returned this week.
Shrinking follows grieving therapist Jimmy (Segel), "who starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives … including his own."
What the "Shrinking" team is saying so far about season 3.
Bill Lawrence, series co-creator and executive producer, says in a statement: “I’m so lucky to work on ‘Shrinking’ with actors, writers and a crew so talented that they all elevate the material. I’m even luckier that they are people I’d want to spend time with anyway. Huge thanks to Apple TV+ and Warner Bros. for the amazing partnership and support. So grateful we get to keep making this show. Onward!”
Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+, adds: “It has been wonderful to watch audiences around the world fall in love with the memorable characters and rich world that Bill, Brett and Jason have created in ‘Shrinking.' We are incredibly excited for viewers to see where life takes Jimmy, Paul, Liz, Gabby, Alice, Sean, Brian and Derek next as they continue on their moving, heartwarming and very funny journey in season three.”
The third season renewal was revealed this morning at New York Comic Con Main Stage by its series co-creators Segel and Brett Goldstein and its stars Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell and Ted McGinley, where they all hosted a special discussion around the new season.
It's a good time all around to be Bill Lawrence as his new Vince Vaughn-starring series Bad Monkey, also on Apple TV+, has scored a second season renewal. Lawrence is also working on a new HBO comedy series with Steve Carell currently in the works.
No word on when it'll return for season three, but likely sometime late next year.
