The Critics Choice Association (CCA) today announced the TV category nominees for the 30th Annual Critics Choice Awards set to air on E! Sunday, January 12th with host Chelsea Handler. And among this year's comedy nominations: stand-up comedy, late night & TV shows were all well represented.
This year's stand-up special nominations saw Netflix picking up two nominations with Ali Wong & Rachel Bloom, HBO/Max scoring two nominations with Nikki Glaser & Ramy Youssef, Prime Video scoring one with Kevin James, & Hulu scoring its first ever comedy special nomination for Jim Gaffigan's The Skinny.
The comedy albums from two of this year's Critics Choice nominated comedy special, Nikki Glaser: Someday You'll Die & Kevin James: Irregardless, are available for download on 800 Pound Gorilla!
Late night television had its fair share of nominations including John Mulaney Presents Everybody's In LA, The Daily Show & The Late Show With Stephen Colbert each being nominated for Best Talk Show. And leading this year's comedy series nominations are Hacks, Abbott Elementary, and What We Do in the Shadows, who are each tied with four nominations each & will all face off in the Best Comedy Series category. The news of Hacks' Best Comedy Series nomination follows its latest win for Outstanding Comedy Series at the 76th Emmy Awards.
