Ahead of taping his next comedy special for HBO this December, Bill Maher has announced that his next comedy special will be titled Is Anyone Else Seeing This?
The new special is set to premiere with the network this January and will mark his 13th stand-up special overall with HBO (his latest special is #Adulting, which premiered in 2022). Is Anyone Else Seeing This? will be taped at the CBIC Theatre in Chicago, IL this December 6th & 7th (tickets for both shows are on sale now here).
What Bill Maher & HBO are saying about the upcoming comedy special, "Is Anyone Else Seeing This?"
Maher jokes in a statement about the upcoming hour: “I almost called this special ‘You Won’t Feel Safe’, because if you’re purely a team player in American politics, you won’t. This one is for the 80% of Americans who want to see crazy called out no matter where it comes from. And the last twenty minutes on my sex life, that’s for everybody.”
Nina Rosenstein, EVP, Late Night & Specials Programming for HBO, adds: “Bill’s comedic commentary has been an extraordinary part of HBO for 12 specials and 22 seasons of ‘Real Time with Bill Maher.’ We truly value his steadfast commitment to honesty and humor, which we know will be front and center in his next special.”
Earlier this year on his Club Random Podcast with guest Jerry Seinfeld, Maher told the Unfrosted actor that his next comedy special may be his last. Maher said to Seinfeld "I'm going to stop doing it [stand-up]" in 2024.
Beyond performing stand-up comedy, Bill Maher is best known for hosting his weekly Emmy-Award nominated HBO series Real Time with Bill Maher, which has now been on the air for 22 consecutive seasons. The talk show host welcomed the comical Jiminy Glick (aka Martin Short) as a guest on his show earlier this year.
No word on an official premiere date has been revealed yet. Stay tuned for an official trailer & premiere date for the upcoming comedy special post its taping.
