Hulu's stand-up comedy lineup, Hularious, is continuing to get bigger by the day.
The streamer announced today that it'll release comedian Frankie Quiñones' debut comedy special with fellow comic Ali Wong directing & Irwin Entertainment producing. The special's release date & further details will be revealed at a later date.
What Frankie Quiñones & Ali Wong are saying about the upcoming Hulu comedy special.
Frankie shares in a statement, “To have my homegirl Ali Wong produce and direct my first one-hour special is a dream come true. Thanks to Hulu/Disney for making this possible. Be ready for some vulnerable ridiculousness. That’s what’s up.”
Wong adds, "Frankie, on and offstage, was always one of the funniest coming up in the Bay Area comedy scene. I’m really honored to be directing and producing his first stand up special because his hour is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. People mostly know him as Creeper from the viral Cholofit videos or from his hilarious performance in “This Fool”, so I’m excited for the world to watch his stand-up."
Previously announced comedians as part of Hularious, which kicks off November 22, include Ralph Barbosa, Bill Burr, Chris Distefano, Jim Gaffigan, Ilana Glazer, Jessica Kirson, Matteo Lane, Sebastian Maniscalco, Atsuko Okatsuka, Andrew Santino, Zarna Garg, & Roy Wood Jr.
This upcoming special marks the latest collaboration between Quiñones & Hulu; he was most recently seen starring in the critically acclaimed series This Fool on the streamer & can currently be seen in the FX series What We Do In The Shadows. He also just wrapped up a pilot for his sketch series at Hulu titled Get Frankie. Additionally, Quiñones is currently in production on a feature film as an executive producer & star with his long time collaborators, The Dress Up Gang, called The Fiddle Leaf.
Wong just released her fourth & latest comedy special, Single Lady, on Netflix last month and at the beginning of this year swept up a ton of awards at the Golden Globes & Emmy's for her work on the Netflix series Beef. Wong will next be seen in & executive producing her new animated Netflix series, Jentry Chau vs. The Underworld, also starring Lucy Liu and Bowen Yang on December 5th.
