With less than three weeks until the launch Saturday Night Live's historic & milestone 50th season, the iconic sketch comedy institution & series has officially locked in its official lineup for season 50 set to premiere on NBC September 28th. The show's also hosting a celebratory weekend with a live primetime special on Sunday, February 16th, 2025.
Among the notable changes include the addition of three new featured players Ashley Padilla, Emil Wakim & Jane Wickline, the promotion of Marcello Herandez, Michael Longfellow & Devon Walker to main cast members, and former featured player Chloe Troast leaving the show.
Troast shared a message on Instagram addressing her departure saying, "Unfortunately i was not asked back to SNL this season. I wish i was going back to be with all the amazing friends i made there, it truly felt like home. But it wasn't in the cards." She continues, "I wanna thank everyone who supported me. Especially everyone who came to see my tour this summer, wore costumes from characters and had such wonderful things to say. You mean everything to me. I hope i was able to spread joy and laughter, all love. Onwards and Upwards."
Most of the main cast & performers are set to return with the exception of Punkie Johnson exiting after four seasons & Molly Kearney exiting after two. Additionally, Maya Rudolph will be appearing this season to reprise Kamala Harris throughout this Fall's presidential election cycle.

Padilla joins the show after being a member of the Groundlings Main Company since 2021. She also recently appeared in the final season of Curb Your Enthusiasm & this past season of Night Court.
Wakim is a Lebanese-American & Chicago raised stand-up comedian, actor and writer (who's now based in Brooklyn) who was previously selected as a New Face of Comedy at the 2022 Just for Laughs Comedy Festival and performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon also in 2022.
Wickline was a cast member on TikTok’s live show Stapleview and comes to SNL having previously performed sketch comedy on tour. She's an Los Angeles raised comic who boasts nearly a million followers on TikTok.
